http://www.jpl.nasa.gov/news/news.cfm?release=2012-114

Nasa has confirmed the fireball that was seen over California in late April 2012 did indeed drop meteorites on the ground.

Mike Farmer, a meteorite hunter has already found fragments of this CM2 classed meteorite. At this time, it is not know if there are meteorites for sale for reserachers.

Daytime Fireball over San Antonio Texas

Daylight fireballs are always a thrill. They must be a big meteoroid coming in, right? Big enought to put meteorites on the ground, we hope.

This week over San Antonio, there was a daylight fireball seen to the south. It was short, maybe 3-4 seconds which hints at a steep angle and hopefully a short strewnfield. However, there was no reported acoustical boom. That is bad, very bad.  At this point, I'm discounting the idea any material made it to the ground.
